                              “Where We Talk Art…”

Join Dave and Nanette for a lively discussion with Bill Olson, drama teacher at
Charlotte High School in Punta Gorda
.

Bill's background includes a stint building sets for the New York City Ballet. He also worked design and production for the national touring company for such musicals as "Grease, Sound of Music, Fame and others." He said with a laugh that working on 400+ performances on the road over a nine month period is a job for a young man.

Bill has hit the ground running in Southwest Florida. His high school students--known as Troupe 0922-- kicked off their season with a production of "Our Town." Next up is the musical "Into the Woods," with Tom Stoppard's "Arcadia" rounding out the year. He predicts that Shakespeare is in the students' future. It's enough to make you want to go back to high school.

Join Dave and Nanette as they talk with Published Author / Poet Dorothy Brooks.
Dorothy's poems have appeared in periodicals from The Louisville Review to California Quarterly to National Catholic Reporter. In addition to her book "A Fine Dusting of Brightness," Dorothy has published several chapbooks. She's an active participant in the Southwest Florida poetry scene, teaching classes at Lifelong Learning Institute, facilitating a poetry circle at Copperfish Books, and penning poems for the annual ArtPoems and Poetry Life events. In their conversation, Dorothy talks about how she came to write poetry and the power of words. She also reads a poem or two for our listeners. It's a real treat.
